If we’ve ever done a shoot for you, chances are you’ve had the pleasure of meeting my husband Patrick. He was probably carrying gear, setting up lighting or telling your kids a story to make them laugh. And while he’s phenomenal at all of the above it’s his real talent that makes me swoon.
Patrick is the drummer for the alternative punk band Womantra. If you haven’t heard their music yet, you need to check them out! The Plain Dealer and Cleveland.com rated their debut album “Stand Up!” as one of the top 15 releases of 2017!

Sometimes you just know you're going to hit it off with a bride & groom. And when Kristen showed up wearing a t-shirt that her family brought back from Disneyland, that was my sign! And it was just the start. While chatting with her and Brett, I learned that we had so much in common. Brett and Kristen even met working at Target - the same place I first met Patrick!
I just loved this engagement shoot. It's so uniquely them. A trip to Target, a walk in the woods with their canine pal Crosby, a quick stop at home, and an adventure through downtown Cleveland where we braved a rainstorm and took over Playhouse Square.

Dustin and Kate met once upon a time at their church in second grade. But as they grew up their lives took them in different directions, and they all but forgot about each other. They didn't meet again until they were adults, and they both happened to stop at the same Winking Lizard Tavern. Someone randomly fell off a chair and it got them talking. They thought they'd never met before until they found an old photo of them as kids together!
Today, they're totally crazy about each other. And I just had the honor of photographing their wedding - at the same church where they first met as children!

What does your wedding day mean to you?
Dustin: "It's cheesy and simple, but it's the day I start my life with my best friend, and it feels so easy."
Kate: "Dustin is my favorite person. I wish it was socially acceptable to bring up in daily conversation how much he is my favorite person."

]]>This Mommy & Me shoot has been in the works for quite a while. I'm so excited to share these images with you!
Tanja is a huge advocate for mothers and normalizing breastfeeding. Getting these beautiful images of Lili nursing were a top priority for her. Lili was born two months early, and Tanja was told she wouldn't be able to breastfeed her little girl. But she and Lili had other plans - they've been going strong for a year and half since day one!
For a new mother who really wants to breastfeed, Tanja offers this advice: Don't give up and trust your body! Join a support group, talk to lactation consultants and ask questions.

Jeff and Becky, every time I see or hear of a cookie cake or an albatross I'll be remembering you and your special day!
Today, I am 40 weeks pregnant! According to popular baby websites our little one is approximately the size of a small pumpkin. Based on the contractions that started last night we are hoping that our little pumpkin will be one of the rare 5 to 10 percent of babies that actually arrive on their due date!
This pregnancy has been a whirlwind! The plan was to have my maternity photos taken by a fantastic photographer friend of mine. Time flew by and at 38 weeks and 5 days we realized if we were going to get any photos at all this was our last chance! So, we did them ourselves!
I can not wait to introduce our baby to you all! We have been absolutely blessed with this healthy and uncomplicated pregnancy! The love and support we've received from our family, friends and even clients has been completely overwhelming! It's been amazing journey and we are looking forward to the next adventure!

As his cousin, and someone who's known him all his life, I especially love the photo below. That face looks no different than if you were to look at a photo of five-year-old Brendan. And I love Melissa for two reasons (there are more, but these are the important ones):
1. She can make him smile like that.
2. She is a fellow slightly-obsessed Disney nerd.
It was so easy to capture how happy they are. And it didn't hurt that Brendan kept whispering silly things
in Melissa's ear to make her laugh...
After rescheduling this shoot a few times due to weather, we finally rolled with the punches and I love the resulting images.
In less than 24 hours Brendan and Melissa start their lives as husband and wife. We couldn't be more excited for them! Love you guys!

Advice to Future Brides and Grooms from Carolyn
If I could give any advice to future brides & grooms, it would be to remember that it is YOUR day. Do what is going to make YOU happy and try to ignore drama as much as possible. You are only going to get married once (hopefully) and you don't want your memories ruined by what went wrong. Let things go, and try to enjoy every second.

Kin - Dee - Garden : (pronunciation courtesy of Mike) : Kindergarten, it's hard to believe that's when I first met Julie. I've had the honor of being her friend despite the great amount of miles we've put between us over and over again.
During one year of our friendship we attended the same college, which is also when we both met our husbands! You could have found us giggling in the school's darkroom together ruining many rolls of film!
